Preservation Scope
Digital Preservation includes Digital Preservation Policy, Integrity Checks, Integrity Results and Check Integrity actions. Treat these as controlled operational tools, not casual result-list actions.
Maintain Preservation Policy
- Use Digital Preservation Policy to review the configured preservation approach.
- Coordinate policy changes with storage, backup and support procedures.
- Record the reason for changes that affect preservation scope or frequency.
Run Integrity Checks
- Run Check Integrity as planned work with a clear scope.
- Record selected items, date, user and expected outcome.
- Avoid running broad checks during busy operational periods unless that is part of the agreed process.
Review Integrity Results
- Use Integrity Checks and Integrity Results to review task history and outcomes.
- Investigate failed integrity checks before taking corrective action.
- Escalate unexpected preservation results to the person responsible for storage or support.
