We are using iBase as our sole DAM solution within Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales.
The system will be available to everyone internally so they can search and download the assets they need.
We have been able to tailor much of the system to suit our specific needs. This has ranged from having a bespoke schema to support the vast diversity of our collection areas, to ensuring that various validation rules were put in place so that metadata is consistent.
Upload and Import
Initial migration used network hot folders and spreadsheet metadata imports, with validation checks to flag records that needed attention.
Copyright Controls
Copyright status can trigger default actions that lock selected images and protect material with third-party rights restrictions.
Controlled Vocabularies
Controlled vocabularies help keep terminology consistent across languages and collections, including linked English and translated dropdown values.
Internal Access
Authorised users can search, edit and download collection material according to the permissions assigned to their role.
